Avaray is located about 22 kilometers northeast of Blois on the edge of the Beauce . Avaray is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Séris in the north and northwest, Lestiou in the north and northeast, Tavers in the east and northeast, Saint-Laurent-Nouan in the south and east, Courbouzon in the south and west and Mer in the west and northwest.
