Veuzain-sur-Loire was formed on January 1, 2017 from the previously independent municipalities Onzain and Veuves .

Veuzain-sur-Loire is about 20 kilometers southwest of Blois on the Loire and is shared by the neighboring municipalities of Mesland in the north and north-west, Santenay in the north, Valloire-sur-Cisse in the north and east, Chaumont-sur-Loire and Rilly-sur- Loire in the south, Mosnes in the southwest, Cangey in the west and Monteaux in the northwest.
