Theodore of Brescius

Carl Ferdinand Theodor von Brescius (born August 22, 1798 in Lübben , † October 18, 1871 in Dresden ) was a landowner , Prussian district administrator and parliamentarian.

family

Brescius, son of the Justice Council Christian Carl Brescius, came from a family of councilors from Guben ( Niederlausitz ) and was raised to the Prussian nobility on May 5, 1856 in Berlin ( Bellevue Palace ) .

Life

Brescius studied law at the University of Leipzig from 1817 to 1820 , where he joined the Corps Lusatia in 1817 .

He then worked as a trainee lawyer at the Higher Regional Court in Frankfurt (Oder) and became a magistrate in 1827. In 1828 Brescius became a landowner on Möstchen in the Lower Silesian district of Schwiebus . In 1834 he was appointed to the state and city judge in Schwiebus . In 1837 he also took over the manor Witten near Schwiebus and two years later became royal Prussian district administrator for Züllichau-Schwiebus .

From June 3, 1848 to May 12, 1849 he was a non-attached member of the Frankfurt National Assembly for the 23rd Brandenburg constituency in Züllichau . As a non-attached member of parliament, he voted with the Rechter Centrum and elected Friedrich Wilhelm IV as Emperor of the Germans.

In 1850 he was a member of the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament . He was a member of the 6th electoral district of the Frankfurt / Oder administrative district and belonged to the station party faction.

In 1851 he retired and lived in Züllichau from 1866 .
