Philipp Theodor Graf von Lüttichau (born June 12, 1795 in Braunschweig , † September 11, 1867 in Glion ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Theodor was a son of Christian von Lüttichau (1748-1805) and his wife Katharina, née von Benzon (1760-1828). His father was a Brunswick budget counselor, Prussian envoy to the Lower Saxony Reichskreis and was raised to Reich Count on November 23, 1791.

Military career

Lüttichau visited the Berlin cadet school and was then mid-May 1812 as Portepeefähnrich the Infantry Regiment body- the Prussian Army transferred. In the campaign against Russia in 1812 he fought in the battles near Eckau, Tomoscna, Mesothen and Wollgund.

After the war, Lüttichau was commanded from November 1, 1816 to July 31, 1819 for further training at the General War School and promoted to Prime Lieutenant in mid-February 1819 . From 1819 to 1821 he was ordered to build the fortress on the Rhine. He was then assigned to the Guards Artillery Brigade on January 2, 1824 and from June 30, 1824 to March 1, 1827 to the topographic office . After returning to his main regiment, Lüttichau advanced to captain and company commander at the end of May 1831 , rose to major at the beginning of February 1840 and was commander of the III. From April 24, 1842 to September 1, 1845. combined reserve battalion. In this position he was awarded the Legion of Honor on January 5, 1843 . On September 1, 1845, he was reassigned as battalion commander to the Leib-Infanterie-Regiment. This was followed from July 11, 1848 to May 28, 1849 as commander of the 2nd Battalion in the 8th Landwehr Regiment in Soldin . Subsequently, Lüttichau was entrusted with the command of the 28th Infantry Regiment and on June 2, 1849 with the command of the 35th Infantry Regiment , before he was appointed commander of this regiment on July 21, 1849. In this position he rose to colonel by mid-April 1851 and received the Knight's Cross of the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern at the end of June 1852 . While being promoted to major general , Lüttichau was awarded the command of the 1st Infantry Brigade in Koenigsberg on July 13, 1854, and in mid-September 1856 was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves.
