history

The Thierbacher Church

Around the 12th century, Thierbach emerged - “a place by the stream where there is a lot of game” - as a street perch village created by German colonists . In 1277 a Heinricus dictus de Thyrbach is mentioned, which indicates a manor house. The first recorded place name form dates from 1350 as Tierbach . In 1824 August Schumann mentions Thierbach in the State, Post and Newspaper Lexicon of Saxony concerning a. a .:

“The local manor only has inheritance courts over the village . Here is a branch of Eyla . There are 46 houses and 230 inhabitants. […] The soil is loamy, wet, but fertile, and particularly productive in dry years. Agriculture and animal husbandry are the main food. The goods are not too great; there are 2  coaches and 17  rear seaters . - The manor is now much more substantial than before thanks to new land purchases. It has some happy services in the Aerndte, Triftrecht for 500 sheep, and lower hunting . The place now has its own school. "

Former Thierbach power plant

In addition, there was a forge, a mill, an inn and, according to the Saxon rural community code of 1838 , a community hall in the village. Thierbach had already become an independent school location the year before. Until 1856, Thierbach was in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Borna . From 1856 the place belonged to the Borna court office and from 1875 to the Borna district administration . In 1888 a castle was built in neo-Gothic style and the accompanying English park was laid out. The last owner of the castle and manor was Conrad von Auenmüller in 1938. In 1941 it was sold to ASW Espenhain and served as accommodation for factory directors and their families, after 1945 for resettlers . Today is only a ruin.

On August 1, 1973, Thierbach was incorporated into Kitzscher. The Thierbach power plant , which went online in 1969 , was shut down in 1999.
