Thomas Groß (actor)

Thomas Martin Groß (* 1976 in Waiblingen ) is a German actor and cultural manager.

Life

Groß received his acting training from 1997 to 2000 at the Spielhaus Stuttgart with vocal training with Darinka Segota and subsequent further training with Stephan Dierichs in Berlin .

Groß had theater engagements at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck , at the Theater Garage X and at the Scala in Vienna, at the Theater in der Drachengasse in Vienna, at the Staatstheater Stuttgart , at the Alten Schauspielhaus Stuttgart , at the Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen (WLB Esslingen), at the Theater Konstanz , at the Stadttheater Mödling , at the stages of the city of Bielefeld, at the Neukölln Opera (February / March 2006, as Michi / Traumgestalt in The Last Show by Lutz Hübner ), at the Schauspielhaus Zürich and Theater in der Josefstadt . From 2001 he worked in several productions at the Landestheater Burghofbühne Dinslaken . At the Hansatheater in Berlin he played the world premiere series of the play Der Mond von Malibu by Curth Flatow in 2004/05 . In the summer of 2017 he was a guest in a leading role at the “ Summer Night Comedy Rosenburg ” festival in Kamptal .

He was also seen in several German and Austrian TV productions a. a. in SOKO Kitzbühel (ZDF / ORF), The Long Wave Behind the Kiel (ARD / ORF), Fast Determined (ORF), Anna's Second Chance (ARD) and The Happiness of This Earth (ARD / MDR / ORF)

As a reciter he came out with his own programs. He gave u. a. Readings with letters and poems by Paul Celan (Studio Molière Vienna) and poems by Allen Ginsberg (Theater Scala Vienna). Groß also worked as a radio play speaker and recorded various radio plays and audio books.

In parallel to his work as an actor, Groß completed his studies in cultural management at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna . He was responsible for medium-sized and large EU projects in the festival and music theater sector. Among other things, he worked as production manager for the European cultural capitals of Marseille and Košice . Since June 2018 he has been managing director of Burg Gars GmbH. Groß has been the commercial director of Gandersheimer Domfestspiele gGmbH since April 2019 .

Groß is married and has three children (two sons, one daughter). He has lived in Vienna for many years with his wife, who works as a music mediator and director at the Vienna Konzerthaus , and his children.
