Thomas Holenstein
Thomas Holenstein (born February 7, 1896 in St. Gallen ; † October 31, 1962 in Muralto ), citizen of Bütschwil , was a Swiss politician ( CVP ).
biography
Holenstein was in the st. Gallic Cantonal Council and from 1937 to 1954 in the National Council .
He was elected to the Federal Council on December 16, 1954 . On December 31, 1959, he handed over his post after he had resigned on November 20. During his tenure, he headed the Department of Economics .
He was Federal President in 1958 and Vice President in 1957.
