Thomas Oláh (born August 3, 1966 in Vienna ) is an Austrian costume designer .

Life

Thomas Oláh studied theater studies , philosophy and art history at the University of Vienna from 1985 to 1987 . From 1986 he also did an apprenticeship as a women's clothing maker , which he completed in 1989. From 1988 to 1992 he studied fashion design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna . Oláh worked as a costume designer for advertising films from 1990. In 1993 he founded the costume workshop Oláh , which produced costumes for the Theater an der Wien , the Vienna State Opera , the Bavarian State Opera , the Zurich Opera House , the Vienna Festival and other stages. Oláh's main focus as a costume designer increasingly shifted from theater to film and television. In 2006, he taught first at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, to which one he 2007 dissertation on military elements in the fashion the doctorate acquired.

Oláh is a member of the Academy of Austrian Film .
