Thomas Tatzl

Thomas Tatzl (* 1980 in Aflenz , Styria ) is an Austrian opera singer ( bass baritone ).

Life

Tatzl initially received singing lessons from Sigrid Rennert and later began studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz . He then moved to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna , where he studied with Karlheinz Hanser (opera) and Robert Holl (lied and oratorio). He also took part in master classes by Thomas Quasthoff , Helena Łazarska and Tom Krause .

In 2010 he completed his song and opera studies with distinction. After his success in the role of Papageno at the Salzburg Festival in 2012. Peter Winters The Labyrinth engagements followed at the Opera House Valencia , Teatro Regio , Teatro dell Opera di Roma , Zurich Opera , Cologne Opera , Teatro La Fenice , Teatro Real and many others .

He made his debut at the Vienna State Opera and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich in 2017/18 in the role of Harlequin. In the same year he sang in the USA at the most important and well-known cultural center of the city of New York City , the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and was on stage at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing . His debut at La Scala in Milan will follow in 2019 .
