The Reformed St. Thomas Church in Basel

The Thomaskirche is an evangelical reformed church in the city of Basel , built in 1958 . The listed church is located in the Iselin district and is dedicated to the Apostle Thomas .

The Thomaskirche was planned in 1958 by the architect Benedikt Huber and built in brick with a separate church tower. There is space for around 400 people in the church, which is separated from the community hall by a sliding wall. Youth rooms are set up in the basement, and office and living areas in the side wings. Since 1997, the Thomaskirche has been the only church in Basel to have a special baptismal font in which adult baptized children can be completely submerged. In 2005 two more halls were created for additional activities. In order to preserve the original appearance of the listed building, these rooms were laid out underground.

In 1958 Charles Hindenlang created the stained glass windows for the St. Thomas Church . The windows were manufactured by Aubert & Pitteloud Verriers in Lausanne.
