Thrasher was an American heavy metal - Super Group from New York City , New York , which was founded in 1983 and broke up about the 1985th
history
The band was formed in 1983. In June and July 1984 Combat Records financed the band project Thrasher, which consisted of various artists, some of whom were known from other bands. Head of the group was drummer Carl Canedy , who also produced the following album and wrote the songs. Guitarist Andy "Duck" MacDonald was also active as a songwriter. The group then went to Music America Studios in New York to record the debut album. The other members were the drummer Gary Driscoll ( Rainbow , Elf ), the bassists Kenny Aaronson ( HSAS ), Billy Sheehan ( Talas ), Peter "Mars" Cowling (otherwise active with Pat Travers ), Gary Bordonaro ( The Rods ), the Guitarists Dan Spitz ( Anthrax ), Jack Starr ( Virgin Steele ), Kim Simmonds ( Savoy Brown ) and the singers Brad Sinsel ( TKO ), Dan Beehler ( Exciter ), Rhett Forrester ( Riot ), Dickie Peterson ( Blue Cheer ), James Rivera ( Helstar , Vicious Rumors , Agent Steel ), Jackie Kenyon, and the singers Maryann Scandiffio ( Blacklace ) and Leslie Dunn. The album was released in 1985 on Combat Records under the name Burning at the Speed of Light . Then the band broke up.
style
According to Metal Harry from Metal Hammer , the heavy metal part dominated on Burning at the Speed of Light , although the result was disappointing with such a star line-up. According to Martin Popoff in his book The Collector's Guide of Heavy Metal Volume 2: The Eighties , tonal parallels to Judas Priest and Accept can be heard on the album .
