The Tiefenbach is on the right, approximately to the north and 8.5 km long tributary of the Lahn in the Hessian district of Limburg-Weilburg . Its catchment area covers 15.5 km².

Surname

The name of the Tiefenbach is probably derived from its old form, Dyffenbach or Dieffenbach (analogous to the two Beselich villages of Nieder- and Obertiefenbach).

The Tiefenbach rises in the northern Limburg Basin from a source in the forest north of Obertiefenbach . A 1000 meter long tributary leads to water from the meadows in the Mur from the right in the direction of Oberweyer in times of greater rainfall .

Initially south to southwest of running, he will soon come out of the forest and home to more than a kilometer, the district boundary between Obertiefenbach and Steinbach that until 1 July 1974 at the same time the border between the former counties Oberlahnkreis and of Limburg was.
