Reginald Harold Haslam "Tim" Parnell (born July 25, 1932 in Derby ; † April 5, 2017 ) was a British racing driver and team manager . Tim Parnell was the son of British racing driver and team owner Reg Parnell .

Career

Although Tim Parnell could never quite follow in the footsteps of his famous father, he managed to achieve some success as a driver in motorsport. After a failed attempt to qualify for the 1959 British Grand Prix , he contested a full season in Formula Junior in 1960 .

1961 followed the entry into the automobile world championship . With a Lotus 18 he drove the British Grand Prix and the Italian Grand Prix . He dropped out at the British Grand Prix and finished tenth on the traditional Italian track.

After having to sit out the whole year in 1962 due to an illness, he returned in 1963 and, after the sudden death of his father, got involved with his racing team, Reg Parnell Racing . The own racing career was put on hold. At the end of 1963 he ended his racing career and became team manager. After the end of the Reg Parnell team, Parnell directed the racing activities of BRM for many years. In the 1960s, he also managed racing drivers Mike Spence and Pedro Rodríguez .
