Tobias Dressel (born April 25, 1635 in Falkenstein / Vogtl. , † May 29, 1717 in Buchholz ) was a Saxon organ builder.

Dressel comes from a respected middle-class family based in the small town of Falkenstein in Vogtland . His father Augustin Dressel, a council relative in Falkenstein, was born with the mayor's daughter Catharina born there. Seckel married. It is not known where Dressel completed his apprenticeship years. From 1657 to 1668 he worked as a journeyman for the Franconian organ builder Matthias Tretzscher in Kulmbach , with whom he repaired the organ at Strasbourg Cathedral, among other things. Dressel returned to Saxony and initially set up his own organ workshop in Falkenstein, his native town, where he installed a new organ in the town church in 1677. In 1680 he moved his residence and workshop to the Erzgebirge mountain town of Buchholz, for whose St. Catherine's Church he built a new organ in 1681. He participated in the municipal administration as a city judge and as a council member (most recently as councilor). Tobias Dressel was born with Esther Meyer married. Tobias Dressel was buried on June 1, 1717 in the cemetery in Buchholz. His son Johann Tobias Dressel (1687–1758) was also an organ builder.
