Tokyo Marathon 2014
The Tokyo Marathon 2014 ( Japanese 東京 マ ラ ソ ン 2014 , Tōkyō Marason 2014 ) was the eighth edition of the annual running event in Tokyo , Japan . The marathon took place on February 23, 2014 and was the first of the World Marathon Major of the year.
Dickson Kiptolo Chumba improved the course record by 1:08 minutes and remained below the course record of the previous Tokyo International Men's Marathon of 2:06:33 hours, which Gert Thys had set in 1999.
In the women's race, Tirfi Tsegaye was 3:05 minutes below the old course record.
