Aaron James "AJ" Hawk (* 6. January 1984 in Kettering , Ohio ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the linebackers . He played for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL) until 2014 , when he was selected by them as the fifth player in the 2006 NFL Draft . Hawk won the Super Bowl XLV with the Packers . In 2015 he was active for the Cincinnati Bengals .
AJ Hawk played college football at Ohio State University , where he was twice voted All-American and best linebacker.
childhood
Hawk was born in Kettering and grew up in Centerville , Ohio. He went to Centerville High School , near Dayton , and played on the football team with the later Cincinnati Bengals kicker , Mike Nugent . As a freshman , he became part of the first football team. He holds several defensive school records and is one of eight current or former NFL players to have played for the Centerville Elks. His established records include the most tackles in a game (31), which he achieved three times, and the most career tackles (583). Hawk was voted an all-state player twice during his high school years (1999 and 2000).
college
Hawk enrolled at Ohio State University , where he played on Head Coach Jim Tressel's team for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2002 to 2005 . During his four-year career as Buckeye, he won the National Championship in 2002 and played 51 games - 38 of them as a starter. He achieved 394 tackles, of which 196 were solo tackles and 41 led to loss of space, 15.5 sacks , seven interceptions and 13 captured fumbles . He also got two touchdowns - one with a blocked punt and one after an interception. Due to his strong performance, he was elected to the All Big Ten Conference Team and to the MVP in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in three years . In his final season in college, he won the Lombardi Award for best linebacker in college football and was named All-American .
National Football League
Green Bay Packers
On April 29, 2006, Hawk was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft in fifth place by the Green Bay Packers . He signed in July a six-year contract for 37.5 million US dollars . He succeeded on September 24, 2006 game against the quarterback of the Detroit Lions , Jon Kitna , his first sack. After beating the Miami Dolphins on October 23, 2006, he was voted NFL Rookie Of The Week after helping the Packers to 34:24 victory with 12 tackles and a sack. For his performance in the 23:17 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on November 12, 2006, he was named NFL Rookie of the Week for the second time. He posted 13 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble in that game. Early in the third quarter, he sank Vikings quarterback Brad Johnson for a 10- yard loss before later succeeding again with teammate Nick Barnett . Hawk had his first interception on December 10, 2006 when he intercepted a pass from Alex Smith in a 30:19 win over the San Francisco 49ers . His second came in the last game of the season against the Chicago Bears (26-7). In his rookie season, he led the Packers defense with 119 tackles. He also got two interceptions, six blocked passes and a forced fumble. He was voted third in the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award vote.
In his second season, he got the second most tackles within the team (105). In addition, he had an interception, a sack, four defended passes and a fumble. In the 2007 postseason he got eight tackles and one sack in two games.
In the 2008 season he was moved from the Weakside Linebacker position to the middle position after nine games after Nick Barnett tore his anterior cruciate ligament . Hawk had 86 tackles and three sacks and started in all 16 games for Green Bay.
In 2009, the Packers hired Dom Capers , who switched to a 3-4 defense and moved Hawk to the position of the inside linebacker.
On March 2, 2011, AJ Hawk's contract was terminated by the Packers. A day later he signed a new five-year contract. In 2011 he was for showing outstretched middle finger in the game against the St. Louis Rams to a fine of 10,000 US dollars condemned.
In March 2013, Hawk agreed to a pay cut that brought him $ 3.6 million instead of $ 5.45 million. His salary was reduced by $ 2.5 million for 2014 and nearly $ 3 million for 2015. In total, he waived about $ 7 million and thus gave the Packers more room for maneuver when complying with the salary cap .

On March 11, 2015, the Cincinnati Bengals announced the engagement of AJ Hawks. He was released after just one season.
Atlanta Falcons
On October 4, 2016, he signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons. He was released on October 25th.

Private life
Hawk is married to Laura Quinn, sister of former NFL quarterback Brady Quinn . Their daughter was born on December 4, 2010. In 2013 they had their second child.
