The Jack Lambert Trophy is an award for the best linebacker in college football . It is awarded annually by the Touchdown Club of Columbus and is named after Jack Lambert , who was considered the best linebacker of his time and played for Kent State and the Pittsburgh Steelers .

The current title holder is Josh Allen from the University of Kentucky .

The largest number of winners so far is Ohio State (4), followed by Florida State , Texas A&M and Miami with two winners each.

James Laurinaitis is so far the only player to have won the trophy twice.
