Joe Philbin
Joseph "Joe" Philbin (born July 2, 1961 in Springfield , Massachusetts ) is an American American football coach. As the offensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers , he was involved in winning the Super Bowl XLV . Since 2018 he has been interim head coach for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL) , replacing Mike McCarthy .
Career
He gained his first coaching experience between 1984 and 2002 as a coach of the offensive line and offensive coordinator at various colleges, including a. from Northeastern University , Harvard, and Iowa . In 2003 he started working for the Green Bay Packers, where he was the assistant coach for the offensive line and tight ends .
Between 2007 and 2011 Philbin was Offensive Coordinator with the Packers. Here he was able to convince with good statistical values of his offense . 28.3 points per game, 267 touchdowns scored , 170 touchdowns achieved by throws and an average of 372.8 yards of space gained meant third place in the league ranking.
He was then appointed head coach of the Miami Dolphins . Here he was able to achieve only 24 wins out of 28 defeats in just over three seasons.
In the 2016 and 2017 seasons , he was on the sidelines as assistant head coach and again as offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts .
For the 2018 season , Philbin returned to the Green Bay Packers as offensive coordinator. After Mike McCarthy was fired mid-season, Philbin was named interim head coach for the Packers. The Packers were able to achieve a 2-2 balance under him.

Personal
Philbin attended Washington & Jefferson College in Washington , Pennsylvania , where he graduated in 1984. He then studied at Tulane University in New Orleans and received a master's degree there in 1986 .
Philbin is married and has six children.
