Tom Clemens (born January 30, 1976 in Epping ) is a former British biathlete .

Tom Clemens was one of the most successful British biathletes at the turn of the millennium and in the mid-2000s. The sports soldier started for the Devonshire and Dorset Light Infantry . In 1998 he ran his first race in the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen and finished 93rd in the sprint. In the same season he took part in his first Biathlon World Championships . At the competitions in Ruhpolding and Oslo , Clemens was 74th in the individual, 78th in the sprint and with Jason Sklenar , Michael Dixon and Mark Gee as the final runners of the season 16. At the World Championships in 2000 in Oslo and Lahti , he reached 80th in the individual, 85 in sprint and with the relay in the previous year's line-up of 18. Clemens ran his most successful world championships in 2001 in Pokljuka . In the individual he reached 86th place, but reached 52nd place in the sprint and qualified for the only time at the world championships for the pursuit race, in which he was 57th. The British season came in 19th place - again with Gee, Dixon, Clemens and Sklenar. It took three years until Clemens took part in the world championships again in Oberhof in 2004 and finished 95th in the individual and finished in 86th place in the sprint. The season did not reach the goal due to a failure of Clemens. The last time he took part in the world championships in Hochfilzen was in 2005 and finished 78th in the individual and 85th in the sprint. The season, which now consisted of Marc Walker , Joe Brooks , Lee-Steve Jackson and Clemens as the final runners, came in 20th place. The highlight of Clemens career was his participation in the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006 , where he was the only male starter in his country in biathlon. The Brit finished 57th in the individual race and was 77th in the sprint. Clemens achieved the best results in the World Cup in 2005 as 40th in the sprint and 44th in the pursuit in Pokljuka.

Nationally, Clemens won the sprint title in 2004 and 2005, in 2003 he was runner- up in sprint and pursuit, in 2004 in mass start behind Mark Gee .
