Torsten Jeworrek

Torsten Jeworrek (* 1961 in Oschersleben ) is a German mathematician and a member of the Board of Management of Munich Reinsurance Company and Chairman of the Reinsurance Committee.

Career

Jeworrek studied mathematics at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg , where he worked as a research assistant for four years after completing his doctorate.

In 1990 Jeworrek started at Munich Reinsurance Company as an underwriter in the contract fire department . Before he became head of division in the property / fire division in 1997 and then headed the Financial Reinsurance and Retrocession department, he worked for a year at the New York subsidiary MARC as an underwriter.

In 2001 Jeworrek became head of the Netherlands , Nordic , UK and Ireland division .

Jeworrek has been a member of the Board of Management of Munich Reinsurance Company since 2003. He was the first East German on the board of a DAX company. There he was initially responsible for the departments Special and Financial Risks , Corporate Climate Center, Capital Reinsurance, Global Business Architecture as well as Corporate Underwriting / Global Clients and Geo Risks Research.

In 2006 Jeworrek became Chairman of the Reinsurance Committee. He is responsible for the Internet of Things , Reinsurance Development, Accounting, Corporate Underwriting, Claims , Information Technology and Controlling and Central Reserving for Reinsurance.

Jeworrek is a Steering Committee member of the Insurance Development Forum, a public-private partnership led by the insurance industry and supported by international organizations.
