Trödelsteine is the name of a 613  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Hellerbergland near Emmerzhausen in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Altenkirchen and in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Siegen-Wittgenstein with a peak in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The Trödelsteine ​​mountain is located about 1.2 kilometers (km) northeast of Emmerzhausen, 3.6 km southwest of Burbach and 2.6 km northwest of Lippe , both of which are in the neighboring district of Siegen-Wittgenstein. The border between Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia runs about 50 m northeast of the mountain summit - roughly along the lower part of the Trödelsteine ​​rock formation. On the Rhineland-Palatinate side, a stream coming from the parcel “Am Zollstock” rises in the west as a Daade tributary and on the North Rhine-Westphalian side the Buchheller tributary Nenkersbach rises in the east . Mountain neighbors are the Nenkersberg ( 610.3  m ) in the north and the Lipper Nürr ( 616.9  m ) in the south-southeast .

Near the summit of the Trödelsteine mountain, which is 613  m high according to the German basic map, a 612.8  m high point is shown on topographic maps .

The Trödelsteine ​​mountain belongs to the southern Hellerbergland natural area (331.32) in the main natural unit group Süderbergland (No. 33), in the main unit Siegerland (331) and in the subunit Hellerbergland (331.3 ).

Protected areas

On the Rhineland-Palatinate side, parts of the fauna-flora-habitat area forests on the Hohenseelbachkopf (FFH no. 5213-301; 10.25 km²) and the bird sanctuary (VSG) Westerwald ( VSG) extend to the southwest flank of the Trödelstein mountain. No. 5312-401; 289.48 km²). Except for the north-east flank of the mountain, parts of the VSG extend to forests and meadows near Burbach and Neunkirchen (VSG no. 5214-401; 46.6 km²) and, in each case within the Nenkersbach valley, those of the FFH area Bergwiesen Lippe with Buchheller and Mischebach valleys (FFH no. 5214-303; 2.6562  km² ) and the Lower Buchhellertal nature reserve ( CDDA no. 319241; designated 2002; 33.53  ha ).
