The Traisentaler Rundwanderweg is a hiking trail in Austria. It runs mostly in the federal state of Lower Austria and leads through the Türnitz Alps , the Mürzsteg Alps, the Gutenstein Alps and the Vienna Woods . The path was opened in 1983 and has a length of 170 kilometers, it takes about eight to ten days to complete it.

Route

The starting point of the circular hiking trail is Wilhelmsburg , from there the path leads over the Stockerhütte and the Staff-Hütte to Lilienfeld , from there over the Lilienfelder Hütte and the Hinteralm to the summit of the Reisalpe . After the descent to Hohenberg , the Türnitzer Höger is climbed to get to Sankt Aegyd am Neuwalde via the Gschwendthütte and the Zdarsky-Hütte .

In the area of the Gippel , the path turns to the west, after the subsequent crossing of the Göller , the hike from Kernhofer Gscheid into the Walster . Now oriented in a northerly direction, the path first leads to Annaberg , then over the Tirolerkogel to Türnitz , where the ascent to the Julius-Seitner-Hütte on the Eisenstein is tackled. Now on to the Otto Kandler House on Hohenstein and the Almhaus "Am Himmel".

The path then leads back down into the valley to Schrambach and over the Lorenzipechkogel to Eschenau . The Kaiserkogelhütte is located on the last summit along the circular route, before the starting point is reached again in Wilhelmsburg.

In the associated hiking guide of the Alpine Association, the path is divided into 25 stages, which are not to be understood as daily stages, but are given by the individual refreshment stops and overnight stays and can be combined depending on personal fitness and preference.

mark

The path is signposted with path number 655 and marked with red-white-red color symbols. The course of the Traisentaler Rundwanderweg was determined by the long-distance hikers section of the Austrian Alpine Association , which is also the point of contact and information point. After completing the entire route, a badge can be obtained there upon presentation of the control stamp.
