Troy Evans (born February 16, 1948 in Missoula , Montana ) is an American actor .

Life

Troy Evans graduated from Flathead High School in Kalispell , Montana in 1966 . He studied at the University of Montana before serving in the 25th Infantry Division in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969 . Upon his return he opened a bar and quickly became an alcoholic. He couldn't get his aggressions under control and not only messed with drug dealers, but also with his customers. After beating up several people, he was sentenced to two years in Montana State Prison . He then had his post-traumatic stress disorder treated at a nearby veterans hospital. Therapy also included reenacting events. With that he came into contact with acting. Finally, he used the GI Bill of Rights to study at Flathead Valley Community College . He moved to California in 1976 , where he played in the theater.

From 1982 Evans was able to work regularly as an actor in television series and feature films. For example, he made his debut in the musical comedy Der Senkrechtstarter, published in 1984 and directed by Bob Clark , in a small supporting role alongside Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton on the screen. From then on, Evans was frequently cast as a police officer or a member of the military, including for films such as Red Alert , Men at Work and Demolition Man . He achieved greater fame primarily through his portrayal of Frank Martin, the emergency room coordinator, whom he embodied in 129 episodes from 2000 to 2009 in the hospital series Emergency Room .
