Tullio De Piscopo (born February 24, 1946 in Naples , Italy ) is an Italian percussionist , pop singer and fusion musician .

biography

De Piscopo studied music at the Conservatory and experimented with synthesizers as early as the 1970s . He worked with Gerry Mulligan , Astor Piazzolla , Gato Barbieri , Aldemaro Romero , Lucio Dalla , Pino Daniele and wrote film music . A special style emerged from the combination of folk elements with jazz and electronic music . Thanks to his great fame in Italy, De Piscopo worked with jazz greats such as Quincy Jones , Billy Cobham , Bob James and Stéphane Grappelli . On his 1984 album Acqua e viento he played a. a. with Don Cherry and Famoudou Don Moye . The single stop Bajon (Primavera) was able to place in the single charts in several European countries .
