Tyler Scofield (born August 15, 1984 in Prince George , British Columbia ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Braehead Clan in the British EIHL since summer 2017 .
Career
Scofield began his career in the Canadian British Columbia Hockey League , where he played for three different teams before moving to the National Collegiate Athletic Association . With his team from Bemidji State University he was able to win a total of two championship titles and was once elected to the second all-star team . After graduating, he ventured to Europe for the first time in 2009 and was signed by the Czech team HC Plzeň , which is active in the top Czech division, the Extraliga . In his only season at the club, although winning the regular season, the team was eliminated in the playoffs in the quarterfinals.
In April 2010 Scofield was signed by the Austrian first division club EC KAC , where he signed a one-year contract, which was extended in 2011 for another and in 2012 for a further two years.
Four years after his Austrian debut there was a change in the club, whereupon the Canadian was dismissed and joined the Graz 99ers at the beginning of October 2014 , where he got a try-out contract. After only one month with the Grazers , he was offered a try-out extension, which he refused and left the club on the same day. Again exactly a month later Scofield's move to the Californian club Ontario Reign in California was announced.
On January 28, 2015, Grizzly Adams presented Wolfsburg from the German Ice Hockey League Scofield as a new addition. There he should replace the injured regular players and provide more depth in the squad.
For the 2015/16 season he returned to the Austrian Ice Hockey League, where he signed a contract with HC Innsbruck . After only 11 games for the Tyroleans, he had to leave the club in December 2015 due to his vulnerability to injury, as he was replaced by Hunter Bishop . After 6 games and 5 scorer points for Rapid City Rush ( ECHL ), he moved to Hockey Thurgau from the NLB for the rest of the season . In July 2016 he signed a contract with Starbulls Rosenheim from the DEL2 .
