Qualification for U-20 Women's World Cup

The U-20 Women's Africa Cup (until 2015 U-20 Women's African Championship ), officially Africa U20 Women's Cup of Nations (until 2015 African U20 Women's Championship ), is a soccer tournament between the best teams in Africa for female soccer players 20 years, which serves almost exclusively to qualify for the U-20 women's soccer world championship. The tournament was held for the first time in 2002. A preliminary round, quarter-finals and semi-finals as well as a final for the tournament victory and the only qualifying place for the U-20 World Cup were held there.

Since then, it has taken place every two years, so that the qualified teams are qualified for the following World Cup tournaments. The competition will be played in the knockout system with two legs, although since the World Cup was increased to 16 teams in 2006, a finals have not been held, so that the two victorious semi-finalists are qualified for the World Cup.

Since 2015 the competition has been officially called the Africa U20 Women's Cup of Nations .
