The line 2 and Seventh Avenue Express is a subway line of the New York City Subway . The sign is tomato red in the stations and on the official subway map as it uses the IRT Broadway - Seventh Avenue Line through Manhattan .

The 2 operates 24/7 between 241st Street in Wakefield, the Bronx, and Halte Flatbush Avenue - Brooklyn College in Midwood / Brooklyn. During the day, the 2 runs in Manhattan as Express d. H. sees only stops at important stops; She operates as a local late at night .

The route runs over the IRT White Plains Road Line in the Bronx, over the IRT Lenox Avenue Line and the IRT Broadway - Seventh Avenue Line in Manhattan and on the IRT Eastern Parkway Line and the IRT Nostrand Avenue Line in Brooklyn. The 2 is the longest IRT line in the underground network.

At times, trains to New Lots Ave in Brooklyn also ran during rush hour, as enough trains already run on the IRT Nostrand Avenue Line between Franklin Ave and Flatbush Ave during peak hours ( see 5 ).
