The Oskar-Helene-Heim underground station is an above-ground station on the U3 line of the Berlin underground . The station in the Dahlem district of Berlin's Steglitz-Zehlendorf district is located on Clayallee south of the intersection with Argentinische Allee and was put into operation on December 22, 1929 together with the line to Krumme Lanke .

The eponymous Oskar-Helene-Heim for the healing and upbringing of frail children in the immediate vicinity of the station opened in 1914 shortly before the start of the First World War . The foundation of the two patrons Oskar and Helene Pintsch financed the sanatorium of the Krüppelkinder-Heil- and Welfare Association for Berlin-Brandenburg .

The construction company, led by Adolf Sommerfeld , promised better development for its planned settlements and financed the approximately three-kilometer stretch from Thielplatz with the three stations Oskar-Helene-Heim, Onkel Toms Hütte and Krumme Lanke.

Friedrich Hennings designed the bridge and the reception building with red clinker bricks and a gable roof. The interior is designed with light green Siegersdorfer straps.

According to the list of priorities agreed between the BVG , the Berlin Senate Senate and associations for the disabled, it was originally planned to equip the underground station with an elevator in the period after 2016. In the meantime, the BVG assumed it would be completed by mid-2015. At the end of 2016, the barrier-free expansion of the station was planned for 2017, the costs for this were estimated at 1.3 million euros.

Finally, work on the elevator began in the summer of 2017. It was completed in November 2018, along with a new access bridge from street level. The costs amounted to around 2.9 million euros.

The train station is therefore barrier-free .
