The 2022/23 UEFA Nations League will be the third edition of this tournament.

The group stage of the tournament is to take place between June and September 2022, the finals are scheduled for June 2023.

Group stage

All UEFA members take part in the UEFA Nations League, currently 55. It is played in four leagues (A to D). In each league, the teams are divided into two (league D) or four (leagues A, B and C) groups by lot.

The 55 UEFA national teams are divided into four leagues, with Leagues A, B and C each consisting of 16 teams divided into four groups of four teams each. League D is made up of 7 teams comprising two groups, one consisting of four teams and the other consisting of three.

The group winners of leagues B, C and D should each move up one level in the Nations League 2024/25, the bottom group of leagues A and B, as well as two bottom group of league C determined in play-outs, should be relegated accordingly.

Qualification for Euro 2024

The first 20 participants for Euro 2024 will be determined by the qualification tournament, Germany is automatically qualified as host. The last three participants will be determined by the Nations League, which has not yet been officially communicated by UEFA. Based on the regulation for Euro 2020, the four best not yet qualified teams in leagues A, B and C each play a final round participant.

Final round ( Final Four )

The four group winners of League A play the UEFA Nations League winner among themselves in the knockout system. The semi-finals will be drawn by lots. The venue will be in one of the four qualified nations.
