Ulrich "Ulli" Potofski (born July 7, 1952 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German sports moderator .

Career

After graduating from secondary school , Potofski trained as a cook . He began his journalistic career in 1970 at Radio Luxemburg . In the 1970s he was also active as a puppeteer , pop singer and disc jockey . In 1979 he went to WDR radio as a sports reporter and in 1984 to RTL plus , where he was head of sports until 1992. In addition, he moderated the television program Anpfiff from 1988 to 1992 . In 1989 Potofski received a Bambi . When the kick-off was stopped, he stayed as a sports reporter at RTL and mainly reported on tennis and ski jumping . In 1993 Potofski ran the RTL program Ein Tag Like No Other for a few months , and from 1998 to 2002 he hosted the program Auf Schalke on DSF .

Until mid-2006 Potofski moderated the sports section on RTL aktuell on weekends and from November 2004 to May 2005 he hosted the DSF program Kreisklasse . At the same time he also became the program manager and moderator for the digital equestrian specialty channel Raze. He also commented from 1998 together with Wolfram Kons the Domino Day on RTL. Since 2006 he has been commenting on games in the 2nd Bundesliga and the DFB Cup for the pay TV channel Sky ( premiered until 2009 ) . From January 13, 2011 he moderated, first with Esther Sedlaczek and later with Christina Rann, the matchday preview Mein Stadion - The Sky Bundesliga preview; the format ended in 2015. On each Monday, Potofski presented events in North Rhine-Westphalian amateur sports on NRW.TV.

In January 2007 he founded the company Napasai Media together with the TV journalist Alexander von der Groeben , which develops and sells audio books and advertising films, among other things. He was a commentator in the 10th season of the German version of Big Brother . From May 2011 he also worked for the call-in game show GallopStars TV , which ran during the night in RTL's commercials . In response to criticism of such engagements, he replied that as a freelance journalist he could not always choose his jobs. In January 2013 he received the MIRA Award for Best Sports Commentator 2012 .

From March to April 2016 he took part in the 9th season of the dance show Let's Dance . Together with his dance partner Kathrin Menzinger , he retired after the first round, but came back to the show after an injury to the participant Franziska Traub . In the ninth show, after having had fans for a long time despite his poor dance skills, he was finally elected from the show.

He moderates irregularly on the Cologne race days from the parade ring . Here he gives tips on the upcoming race and then interviews the winning team.

Since 2017 he has moderated the night show "Night Call" on the internet livestream broadcaster Muxx TV .
