Ulrich II von Rechberg was Bishop of Speyer from 1178 to 1187.

Ulrich II von Rechberg came from the Swabian noble family of the Counts von Rechberg . According to the Rechberg family chronicle, Ulrich II was born in Heuchlingen in 1163 . Later he furnished his own two aristocratic residences, Rosenstein and Lauterburg, with chapels. He is also considered to be the builder of the episcopal castle in Bruchsal .

Ulrich II comes from a family that had very close contacts with the Hohenstaufen . His father of the same name first held the office of castellan on the Hohenstaufen before he assumed the office of Swabian marshal under Duke and later King Philip of Swabia . His brother Hildebrand succeeded his father in office, his brother was Bishop Siegfried von Augsburg . Ulrich II himself is one of a number of Speyer bishops who were closely related to the Hohenstaufen emperors.
