from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bruno von Saarbrücken († 1123 ) was Bishop of Speyer from 1107 to 1123.

Bruno von Saarbrücken came from the dynasty of the Counts of Saarbrücken , who were entrusted with important offices by the Salians . Bruno was the son of Count Siegbert and a brother of Friedrich von Saarbrücken and the Archbishop of Mainz Adalbert I of Saarbrücken , and thus also the uncle of Adalbert II of Saarbrücken (see also list of Counts of Saarbrücken ). Before Bruno became Bishop of Speyer , he was an abbot at Lorsch Abbey . In 1107, the same year he became Bishop of Speyer, he was also abbot of Limburg Monastery until 1111 .
