Ulrike Scharf (born December 16, 1967 in Erding ) is a German politician ( CSU ), member of the Bavarian State Parliament and was Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection from 2014 to 2018 .

Life

Scharf completed an apprenticeship as a banker and studied business administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich (degree: Diplom-Kauffrau (FH) ). She then joined the parental travel company as a partner authorized to represent.

Political career

In 1999 she was elected chairman of the CSU local branch of Fraunberg and deputy chairman of the CSU district branch in Erding. She has been a district councilor in the Erding district since 2002 .

In addition, Scharf is an assessor on the district executive committee of the CSU Upper Bavaria . In 2007 she was elected deputy district chairwoman of the Women's Union of Upper Bavaria and in 2009 as district chairwoman.

In the state elections in 2003 she ran for Upper Bavaria on the CSU list, but was unable to enter the state parliament. On January 1, 2006, she moved to Otto Wiesheu as deputies by and worked there until 2007 in the Committee on social, health and family policy. Since then, Scharf has been a member of the Economic and Petitions Committee . In the state elections in 2008 , as a candidate on the list of the Upper Bavaria district , she was unable to return to the state parliament due to the high losses suffered by the CSU.

After leaving the state parliament, she became increasingly involved in the social field: in 2008 she was elected as an individual to the diocesan council of the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising , and in 2009 she took over the chairmanship of the water rescue service in the Bavarian Red Cross as the successor to Ilse Aigner . In 2017 she passed the position on to Thomas Huber . In the internal party candidate list for the 2013 state elections , Scharf was able to prevail against the previous constituency member Jakob Schwimmer unexpectedly and against resistance from the local CSU leadership and now stood for the CSU as a direct candidate in the Erding constituency . In the state elections, she received 49.8 percent of the first votes and entered the 17th Bavarian state parliament as a member of her district . In the state election in 2018 , she again received the most first votes in this constituency with 37.9% and is therefore still a member of the Bavarian state parliament. Scharf is currently a member of the Committee for Economics, Regional Development, Energy, Media and Digitization and a member of the Committee for Housing, Construction and Transport.

In September 2014, Scharf succeeded Marcel Huber as the new Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection in the Seehofer II cabinet .

From October 2014 to 2016, as a member of the state government, she was also a full member of the Commission for the Storage of Highly Radioactive Waste (Repository Commission) in accordance with Section 3 of the Site Selection Act .

Concept for updating the clean air plan

In a court case initiated by Deutsche Umwelthilfe , the Free State of Bavaria was sentenced to a fine of € 4,000 because no driving bans were included in the clean air plan. As a justification, the court said: “There are a lot of buzzwords, but there are no concrete measures. With this general blah in the draft of the clean air plan, they do not meet the requirements of the court. ”Originally, Deutsche Umwelthilfe applied for compulsory detention against Minister Scharf. However, in this case the court applied administrative law and not the code of civil procedure .

Private

Ulrike Scharf is divorced and has a grown son. She is the owner of a travel agency in Erding.
