Un Tango Más

Un Tango Más is a tango sextet from Essen, founded in 1999 . So far the group has released two CDs with Esperatango and Un Tango Más . Your current project is called Tango Pasión . All musicians at Un Tango Más compose their own pieces.

history

The sextet was formed in 1999 and is one of the established ensembles in Germany today. They mix elements of Tango Argentino with Tango Nuevo . Since its inception, the ensemble has played in several philharmonics in Germany (Essen, Berlin , Dortmund , Duisburg , Freiburg im Breisgau , Lüneburg , Münster and Wuppertal ). The group has also performed at several festivals, such as "Unerhört" in the Schauspielhaus Bremen , jazz in the Hofgarten in Düsseldorf , the Ruhr Guitar Festival and the Jazz Festival in Viersen , Potsdam and Essen. Her second CD Esperatango was released in 2007. Each member has their own concert practice. In their current project Tango Pasión, the group is supported by international dance couples. Six years earlier, the sextet released their debut CD of the same name.

Sónnica Yepes
  • Sónnica Yepes studied jazz at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. From 2000 to 2002 she was a singer in the Jazz Orchestra NRW and gave concerts in Germany , Greece , France and Belarus . She is a singer with Un Tango Más.
  • Antje Vetter studied rhythm at the Folkwang University in Essen and completed a jazz violin course at the University of the Arts in Arnhem . She took part in The Last Chamber Ensemble (CD 1998) and DASKwartett. In 1998 she won the 7th Jazz Young Talent Festival in Leipzig. She is the violist with Un Tango Más.
  • Martin Scholz studied jazz piano at the Folkwang University in Essen and is a qualified jazz musician. He gives several concerts in surrounding countries. In 2001 and 2003 he gave several weeks of concerts in South America at the invitation of the Goethe Institute . Scholz is the pianist at Un Tango Más.
  • Thomas Hanz studied at the Folkwang University and the Hannover Medical School (under Professor Roberto Aussel) and took part in international master classes. He is the founder of Un Tango Más and is the guitarist of the sextet. Since 1998 he has been the artistic director of the Ruhr Guitar Festival.
  • Jörg Siebenhaar studied accordion at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen and is a theater musician in Krefeld , Bochum and Göttingen . He also worked with Jürgen von der Lippe . Siebenhaar plays the accordion with Un Tango Más.
  • Alexander Morsey won several youth jazz competitions and studied double bass at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. He has already given several concerts in Central America , the Caribbean , Thailand , Poland and Greece . He is represented (now also as a tuba player) on over 20 CDs. He also played with the Federal Jazz Orchestra. He is the bass player with Un Tango Más.
