Underclass Hero is the fourth studio album of Canadian pop-punk - band Sum 41 . It was released on July 27, 2007 by Island / Universal . After the metal- heavy predecessor Chuck , Underclass Hero is a return to the pop-punk of the older Sum-41 albums, only the more serious basic theme of the lyrics was taken over by Chuck .

Creation and publication

After lead guitarist Dave Baksh left , the band worked on the new album without a new guitarist. The recordings took place between November 2006 and March 2007 in three different studios in Los Angeles , Van Nuys and Hollywood (all California ). This time Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley worked as the producer .

On May 15, the advance single Underclass Hero was released , which made it into the singles charts in Germany and Canada. The album itself was released on July 18, 2007, but initially only in Japan . On July 23, 2007 the album was released in Europe and Canada , and one day later in the USA .
