The parish church

climate

The Oberpullendorfer Basin forms its own climatic area under the protection of its mountain framing (Ödenburger Mountains in the north, Landseer Mountains in the west and Günser Mountains in the south), whereby the transition from the alpine to the Pannonian climate takes place from west to east .

Place name

The variety of spelling variants of the place name conceals the German name Petersdorf - it is already the basis of the Latinized first mention "villa Petir" in 1245 - as well as the Hungarian name Péterfava or Péterfa , which is a translation of the German name; Since the early 18th century, the place was often called Unterpetersdorf ( Alsó Péterfalva ) in official writings of the Esterházy administration to distinguish it from the place of the same name in the rule of Kobersdorf (Oberpetersdorf), which was also under Esterházy administration , the forms Niederpetersdorf and Klein Petersdorf were only used used occasionally. In the colloquial parlance of the village and the surrounding area, the Petersdorf form has remained alive to this day.
