Rumoi sub-prefecture

Rumoi ( Japanese 留 萌 振興 局 , Rumoi-shinkō-kyoku ) is a sub- prefecture of Hokkaidō Prefecture . It has an area of ​​4,019.97 km² and a population of 61,488 (as of 2005).

history

In 1897 the sub-prefecture Mashike ( 増 毛 支 庁 , Mashike-shichō ) was set up with its administrative headquarters in Mashike . In 1914 the administrative center was moved to Rumoi and the sub-prefecture was renamed Sub-prefecture Rumoi ( 留 萌 支 庁 , Rumoi-shichō ).

On October 20, 1948, the village of Toyotomi in Teshio County of the Sōya sub-prefecture was slammed.

When Hokkaidō was reorganized on April 1, 2010, it was renamed Rumoi-shinkō-kyoku , as well as the administrative subordination to the Kamikawa sub-prefecture . The community Horonobe in Teshio district of the Sōya sub-prefecture was slammed.
