Until One is the first studio album by the Swedish house band Swedish House Mafia .

Until One was released for the first time on October 22nd, 2010, shortly after the release of their third single Miami 2 Ibiza in Germany , Austria , Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Sweden as CD and download . On October 25, 2010 it was released in the United States . It was recorded from 2009 to 2010. In addition to their own songs, the album also features cover versions, collaborations by the band members and remixes. The album was produced by the trio themselves and released on the music labels Virgin Records and Polydor .

Singles

Three singles were released from the album:

  • Leave the World Behind was released as the first single from the album on June 1, 2009, not yet under the name Swedish House Mafia . She was recorded with Laidback Luke and Deborah Cox . The song reached number 39 on the Swedish singles chart.
  • They recorded One (Your Name) , a vocal version of the instrumental track One , with Pharrell Williams . It was the second release from the album and was released on July 23, 2010 in Germany. It reached number 41 in Germany, number 25 in Austria, number 13 in Switzerland, number seven in the United Kingdom and number eleven in Sweden.
  • Miami 2 Ibiza was the third and final single from the album. It features vocals from Tinie Tempah and was released for sale on October 1, 2010. It was ranked 46th in Germany, 36th in Austria, 19th in Switzerland, fourth in the United Kingdom and tenth in Sweden.

The album received mixed reviews. The average calculated by Metacritic is 54 out of 100 possible points. For example, Mikael Wood from Billboard gave a positive rating of 76 points. Allmusic's Tim Sendra said that not every “ DJ dream team ” would be ready to produce such a mix album and that it would be tough to criticize Swedish House Mafia because their music is such a “ blast ”. Joe Zadeh from Clash gave a very negative review, asked himself what would have become of the trio and described the album as trash ( German garbage ). He awarded only one of ten possible points.

Album chart placements

The album was able to place itself in various charts. Reached in Germany, the United Kingdom and Austria, it failed to make it into the charts, while Until One made it into the top 20 in Switzerland, at number 18. It stayed in the Top 75 for nine weeks. In the United States, the album only spent one week at number 139 on the Billboard 200 . It reached number 13 in Sweden, and it was on the charts for seven weeks.
