Ursula Seiler-Albring

Ursula Seiler-Albring b. Albring (born July 19, 1943 in Saarbrücken ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 1991 to 1994 she was Minister of State in the Foreign Office . From 1995 to 2006 she was the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Austria , Bulgaria and Hungary .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1963, Ursula Seiler-Albring studied sociology , political science , psychology and constitutional law in Göttingen , Tübingen and Berlin , from which she graduated as a sociologist. She then worked from 1969 to 1973 as a personnel and organizational officer in industry.

In May 2006, Seiler-Albring succeeded Alois Graf von Waldburg-Zeil and Trauchburg as President of the Institute for Foreign Relations (ifa) in Stuttgart, which she held until June 30, 2017.

Ursula Seiler-Albring is married and has two children.

Political party

Seiler-Albring has been a member of the FDP since 1969 . For many years she was a member of the FDP federal executive committee . From 1986 to 1990 she was a member of the Advisory Board of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .

From 1970 to 1974, Seiler-Albring was a knowledgeable citizen of the FDP parliamentary group in the city council of Düsseldorf .

From 1983 to 1994 Ursula Seiler-Albring was a member of the German Bundestag . From April 1988 to December 1990 she was parliamentary manager of the FDP parliamentary group .

Ursula Seiler-Albring has always entered the Bundestag via the Baden-Württemberg state list.

Public offices

On January 24, 1991 Seiler-Albring was as Minister of State in the Foreign Office in the of Chancellor Helmut Kohl led government appointed. After the general election in 1994 , she left office on November 17, 1994.

After leaving politics, she was ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Austria from 1995 to 1999 and to Bulgaria from 1999 to 2003 . From 2003 to 2006 she was the German ambassador to Hungary .
