action
The peaceful valley of Sura is terrified by the appearance of a monster that apparently attacks and kills people at random. The residents suspect the neighboring Circassians who immigrated some time ago; the monster spares them. Their leader, Ursus, is viewed critically by the chief of the valley residents, Tsereteli, as the queen of the valley Aniko has fallen in love with him. Tsereteli suspects Ursus of being the monster's accomplice. When Ursus' brother, Ido, is attacked by the monster with a knife belonging to Ursus, even this doubt is harbored.
After several adventures Ursus can prove that the magical Aniko is the author of the crimes; after their death, the monster disappears from the area.
criticism
The film service gave a devastating verdict: "Poor equipment, dialogues in the manner of a speech bubble, pathetic amateur play with lots of rolling eyes are the characteristics of this fourth-class light play." The lexicon of international film also says in its keyword criticism: "Confused series adventure of a primitive shape." TV Spielfilm changes: "Almost breathtakingly amateurishly staged." Even the Protestant film observer does not think much of the film: "Apart from the efforts of magic and telepathy, everything is as usual in this colored Italian monster film, and therefore: without recommendation!"
Remarks
The film was largely directed by Ruggero Deodato , the film's official assistant director , as Antonio Margheriti was busy completing his The Destruction of Rome .
synchronization
The main actor Reg Park is voiced by Rainer Brandt , in the GDR Synchro in 1984 by Gottfried Richter .
