Uwe Baltrusch

Uwe Baltrusch is a German musician and music producer .

Life

Baltrusch grew up in Cologne. He began playing as an electric guitarist in the progressive metal band Mekong Delta as a student in 1988 and was a member of the band until 1997, sometimes under the synonym Marc Kaye. During this time, Mekong Delta recorded eight albums. From 1989 to 1996 he also played as a guitarist in bands such as Sodom , UDO , House of Spirits and Target (Belgium), on tours and in the studio. In 1992 he was called to community service in a youth center and began to work with young bands in the in-house studio. In 1996 he produced the Mekong Delta studio album "Pictures at an Exhibition". In 1997 he produced the Wise Guys' third album Everything in the Green Area and has since been producer of all of the group's subsequent albums. A long-term collaboration with the band Höhner began in 1998 with the production of the gold-winning single Die Karawane geht weiter , from which the following album of the same name, other publications such as the 1. FC Köln anthem "Mer stonn zo Dir FC Kölle", as well as 2003 the DVD - recording of the Höhner Rockin Roncalli show "Minsche Fiere Emotionen" emerged.

Baltrusch produced and mixed music for artists such as Wise Guys, Höhner, Bläck Fööss , Paveier , Brings , Köster & Hocker, Bernd Stelter , Räuber , Risquee, Jimmy Kelly , Soundness, Howard Carpendale , Kowalski , Nikitakis , Mekong Delta, Ape Einstein, Uwe Fellensiek , 2TheUniverse , Jördis Tielsch , Helltrail, Scäm Luiz. Together with Fellensiek he recorded a fan anthem for VfL Bochum on the occasion of the 2011 Bundesliga relegation and played it live with him in the Bochum stadium. As part of the tour for the Wise Guys album "Zwei Welten", Baltrusch acted as musical director and guitarist.

In 2016 he recorded a Christmas album with Ferenc Husta , with features from some German a cappella bands, such as Van Canto , Medlz , 5 vor der Ehe or LaLeLu . In cooperation with the Cologne Music Store, Baltrusch launched the online mix and mastering service "mix-your-track" in 2018. In 2020 he worked on the re-release of Kowalski's "Schlagende Wetter".
