Jördis Tielsch

Jördis Tielsch (born July 18, 1995 in Wetzlar ) is a German singer-songwriter and violinist .

education

Tielsch's musical training began at the age of 6 on the violin . She received lessons from the university music director a. D. from the Justus Liebig University in Giessen , Brigitte Schön (violin) and Erik Sohn from the Musikhochschule Köln (vocals). Tielsch's sponsors also included the German a cappella group Wise Guys , which helped the artist to gain national recognition through appearances at Wise Guys concerts. Tielsch passed her Abitur in 2014 at the Johanneum- Gymnasium in Herborn . In the 2015/16 winter semester she took part in theUniversity of Cologne and the Cologne University of Music offer a teaching degree (grammar school) for the subject combination of music and English. One focus of the course is on the area of jazz violin .

Appearances

Tielsch appeared in the context of Wise Guys concerts in Germany , including in the Cologne Philharmonic or the Dresden Young Guard . At church days ( Katholikentag 2012 in Mannheim , Evangelischer Kirchentag 2013 in Hamburg ) she was able to reach five-digit audience numbers. In August 2015, she performed live for the first time in front of an audience of millions in the ZDF television garden . Other television appearances she completed in the ZDF - show " Horst Lichter on tour" and in Hesse and West German Radio . From 2014 to 2016, Tielsch was the official voice of the motorcycle church service in Hamburg.

Jördis Tielsch is on tour with Heinz Rudolf Kunze at the beginning of 2019 : As a singer and violinist, she is part of Kunze's band called Reinforcement , which is accompanying Kunze on his Germany tour “Greetings from fate” with a total of 18 concerts.

Awards

In the period from 2008 to 2014 (age groups III-VI) Tielsch took part in various categories in the music competition “ Jugend musiziert ”. In addition to many first prizes in the Hessian pre-selection, several prizes in the national competition are among her successes: second prizes in the categories “Singing ( Pop )” (2010) and “ Duo : Piano and a String Instrument ” (2012) as well as third prizes in the “Violin "(2010) and" String Ensemble (same instruments) "(2014).

social commitment

In 2015 Tielsch was appointed ambassador for the German Children's Hospice Foundation. In this role, the artist regularly visits children with life-shortening illnesses and supports their families.

Since 2007 Tielsch has been performing with his own band in the line-up of Jördis Tielsch (vocals / violin), Peter Vanielik-Schneider ( guitar ), Jens Schäfer-Stoll ( bass ) and Oliver Zapf ( drums / percussion ). From 2015 to 2016 the band was supplemented by Lars Peter ( keyboard ). The band's focus is on acoustic pop with elements from folk , country and jazz . After the focus was initially on interpretations of well-known songs, including those by Diana Krall , Norah Jones and Leonard Cohen , their own compositions with German lyrics have taken their place since around 2012 . For live performances, however , cover songs are still part of the repertoire .

Discography

The first two CDs consist of cover songs that were produced in studio quality and mainly have demo functions. The first studio album is the CD “The Little Things” from 2012. Text and music partly come from Daniel “Dän” Dickopf from the Wise Guys and are based on ideas from Tielsch. A CD with interpretations of German and English Christmas carols was released at the end of 2014 . All of the above productions were published independently. On August 28, 2015, 105music / Sony Music released the album “Small City, Big Cinema” in collaboration with Frank Ramond . Three singles were released from this album .

In 2018 the radio play "Keltenkind" (Volumes I and II) by the German author Steffen Ziegler was released, in which Tielsch played the lead role. Also in 2018 Tielsch switched to MAWI subsidiary Meadow Lake Music, where the EP “Kopfüber” was released in early 2019 in cooperation with Henning Neuser . On this release, Tielsch composed all the songs himself for the first time. “Moment Infinity” was released as a single.
