VH1 UK is an offshoot of the US broadcaster VH1 based in London . As with the other offshoots, VH1 UK appeals to older target groups. The choice of music today tends to be a little younger than when the program started, with a significant proportion of current music.

program

VH1 UK, like its European offshoot VH1 Europe , is a pure music television station that broadcasts music videos 24 hours a day, but unlike the European version with commercial breaks. These two offshoots differ fundamentally from the original US version, which has only broadcast reality programs since December 2015. By 2008, formats from the US offshoot such as Top 20 and Top 40 were also taken over.

Offshoot

In the United Kingdom and Ireland there was also VH1 Classic , which was replaced there on March 1, 2010 by MTV Classic. The European version and the US version, however, continue to operate as VH1 Classic.

In addition, there was another offshoot of VH1 UK with the name VH2 from 2003 to 2006, which covered the music genre of indie rock . This was replaced by MTV Flux, which in turn was also discontinued in 2008 and replaced by MTV One +1.
