VH1 Россия was the Russian offshoot of the US broadcaster VH1 , which was operated by MTV Networks. On June 1, 2010 broadcasting was stopped. The core program area included music videos of Russian rock and pop music from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s as well as contemporary hits. The target group consisted of viewers aged 14 to 45 years.

VH1 Россия's program began on December 1, 2005 with a music video by the Russian band Kino . As a special feature, from March 2010 the station was one of the first in Russia to show Japanese rock music . Initially, broadcasting was to be discontinued on April 1, 2010, but the date was later postponed to June 1, 2010. From May 31 to June 1, 2010 at midnight Moscow time, the station ended its program with the title Resistance by the British band Muse .
