Tariff and traffic area

The VSN tariff enables the use of all local public transport (city and regional buses and regional trains) with standard tickets within the above-mentioned area. The traffic area of the VSN comprises the following sections of the railway lines :

Transitional regulations to other associations

The federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia with the local transport association Paderborn-Höxter (NPH), Hesse with the North Hessian transport association (NVV), Thuringia without association and the Lower Saxony transport association for the Braunschweig region (VRB) border the VSN .

Sometimes other associations or even federal states are passed through when driving between two locations in the VSN area . How to drive z. B. from Göttingen via the Hessian Eichenberg and Witzenhausen to Hann. Münden . From Bodenfelde the journey leads to Lauenförde in Lower Saxony via Bad Karlshafen and Würgassen even through two federal states (Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia ). However, these routes can easily be used with a valid VSN ticket as well as the Lower Saxony ticket . The other way around is the Hessen-Ticket from Kassel to Eichenberg , with Hann. Münden Lower Saxony area is used. The city of Seesen can also be reached at the VSN tariff, although it is already part of the Braunschweig Region Transport Association.

On other connections, e.g. B. a train journey from Uslar to Holzminden via Ottbergen (Höxter) an additional ticket for the neighboring transport association (here: NPH ) must be purchased with certain tickets such as a network card or the Lower Saxony ticket, if the card is not issued to the destination.

Since September 2006 , the InterCity trains running on the Göttingen - Northeim - Kreiensen section can no longer be used with VSN network cards.
