The VTB United League season 2016/17 was the seventh season of the basketball league VTB. 13 teams from 5 countries took part in the 2016/17 VTB United League season. The season started on October 2, 2016 and ended in June 2017.

Tournament format

As in the previous season, all teams played a double round each against each other. Then the first eight teams played the play-offs. It took the winner three wins to advance.

Compared to the previous year, the teams of BK Vita Tiflis , ČEZ Nymburk , Krasny Oktjabr Volgograd and Bisons Loimaa had left the league. The team from BK Parma was a new addition .
