The middle of the river Weser forms the border to Lower Saxony and the Reinhardswald estate begins at the edge of the forest above Vaake .

history

The earliest surviving documentary evidence proves the existence of the place Ukken since the year 1272. After an eventful history Vaake completely passed into the possession of the Landgraviate of Hesse in 1538 .

On June 6, 1961, the area around the Tillyschanze with almost 50 inhabitants was ceded to the Reinhardswald estate .

On December 31, 1970 , as part of the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent municipalities of Vaake and Veckerhagen merged on a voluntary basis to form the new municipality of Reinhardshagen. Local districts according to the Hessian municipal code were not established.
