Valentin Emanoil Bădoi (born December 16, 1975 in Turnu Măgurele , Teleorman County ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach . He played 292 games in the highest Romanian football league, League 1 .

Career as a player

society

Bădoi only became a professional soccer player at the age of 25 when he was signed by FCM Bacău , who at the time was represented in the top Romanian division, Divizia A (now League 1 ). In his first season he became a regular player. Although relegated at the end of the 2000/01 season, Bacau remained in Divizia A, since the club bought the license of the promoted FC Baia Mare . In the following season , the club finished sixth, with Bădoi also appeared as a goal scorer and scored eight goals.

In 2002 Bădoi Bacau left and joined the capital club Rapid Bucharest . At Rapid he became an integral part of the team right away and won the Romanian championship in the first year . The 2005/06 season was similarly successful , when the club finished the league as runner-up behind Steaua Bucharest , but won the Romanian Cup and made it to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup . There the club lost out in a Romanian duel against Steaua due to the away goals rule . A year later , the cup victory could be repeated.

After five years at Rapid, Bădoi moved to local rivals Steaua in 2007. There he could not prevail and left the club during the winter break for FC Timișoara . The 2008/09 season he ended with his new club as runner-up behind Unirea Urziceni , where he was an integral part of the team as a regular. Nevertheless, he left Timișoara in August 2009 and joined the league rivals FC Universitatea Craiova . There he was only used in half of the games and signed with FC Brașov in the summer of 2010 , but dissolved this contract in December 2010.

National team

Bădoi played ten games for the Romanian national football team and remained without a goal. He made his debut on February 9, 2005 against Slovakia in a tournament in Cyprus, when he came on in the 81st minute for Mirel Rădoi . In the autumn of the same year, national coach Victor Pițurcă also used him as a substitute in the World Cup qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Finland . In the following games, Bădoi was also used on the starting line-up. He played his last international match on August 16, 2006 in a friendly against Cyprus . In the following European Championship qualifiers Pițurcă no longer built on him.

Career as a coach

In December 2012, Bădoi succeeded Giani Kiriță as head coach of ACS Buftea (later FC Clinceni ) in Liga II . In the 2012/13 season he led the newly promoted to a place in midfield of season 1. In the following season he moved with his team in the promotion round to League 1, but was dismissed in April 2014 and replaced by Marcel Abăluță .
