Valentin Ludwig von Bandemer

Valentin Ludwig von Bandemer (* 1726 in Pomerania ; † after 1787) was a Prussian colonel and commander of a grenadier battalion .

Life

origin

Valentin Ludwig was a member of the Pomeranian noble family von Bandemer . His father Friedrich Ernst von Bandemer († before 1749) was the heir of Sorchow in the Stolp district from 1722 .

Career

Bandemer was admitted to the Kadettenanstalt Berlin in 1742 , was promoted to ensign in 1746 and was a junior in the infantry regiment in 1749 (No. 10) . He was promoted to second lieutenant in 1751 and prime lieutenant in 1756 . Bandemer rose to the position of staff captain in 1758 and real captain in 1762 . When he to 1775 Major was promoted at the same time the command via a grenadier battalion, which consist of two grenadier companies of the regiments no. 9 was and no. 10 assembled. He also acted as chief of these grenadiers in the War of the Bavarian Succession . Bandemer was promoted to lieutenant colonel in 1784 and to colonel in 1787.

family

Bandemer married Anna Sophia von Vitzthum , daughter of a Hanoverian major. The marriage produced a daughter.
