Vanessa Bernauer (born March 23, 1988 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football player .
Career
societies
The daughter of footballer Daniel Bernauer started playing football at FC Bülach at the age of ten . In 2003 she switched to FC Zurich Frauen (until 2005 SV Seebach , until 2008 FFC Zurich Seebach ), for whom she played in the National League until 2010 . With Zurich she won a total of three Swiss championship titles in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and the Swiss Cup in 2007. For the 2010/11 season, the midfielder moved to Levante UD in the Spanish league, where she was active for three seasons. In the summer of 2013, Bernauer signed a contract with Bundesliga promoted BV Cloppenburg. She made her Bundesliga debut on September 8, 2013 (1st matchday) in the game against SGS Essen , in which she scored her first two goals with the 1-0 and 3-3 final score. After 22 games and five goals for BV Cloppenburg, she moved to German champions VfL Wolfsburg during the 2014 summer break .
After 56 league games and 3 cup wins with VfL, Bernauer moved to Italy for SSD Roma Calcio Femminile in July 2018 .
National team
Bernauer went through all of the junior selections of the Swiss Football Association . In 2005 and 2006 she was part of the Swiss squad for the U-19 European Championship , with the U-20 selection she took part in the 2006 World Cup in Russia , but dropped out with her team in the preliminary round. On February 25, 2006, at the age of 17, she finally made her debut for the Swiss senior team : in the friendly against Denmark , she played for Flavia Schwarz in the 82nd minute.
